If you drive a Honda Accord or are just thinking about buying one, you’re looking at an automobile that’s affordable yet doesn’t compromise in comfortability, versatility, and more importantly fun! To throw a bit more pleasure into the mix, you may wonder: can you put a supercharger in a honda accord?
The answer is a resounding YES! This roaring beast can be thoroughly supercharged. This allows the engine to generate power like nobody’s business without undermining the speed of acceleration.
But why should you put a supercharger on your Honda Accord? Well, let’s shed some light on you.
Why Should You Mount a Supercharger on the Honda Accord?
As the name suggests, a supercharger causes the engine to consume more ‘charge’ aka air-fuel mixture. More fuel simply means more energy generated per power stroke. This enables your Accord to pull off a superb performance. This in turn makes you more excited and confident!

A few other tangible benefits are:
- The supercharger provides extremely high horsepower and gives a quick boost to the engine performance.
- Directly connected to the crankshaft, the supercharger is capable of instantaneous delivery of power. So you won’t have to worry about any lag.
- This kit can generate a great deal of power at a relatively low RPM.
- Compared to the increase in performance, the supercharger costs very little.
How Should You Put a Supercharger in a Honda Accord?
Mounting a supercharger on a Honda Accord can be a rather tricky business. If you’re not thoroughly familiar with car customization and don’t have the proper equipment, we highly recommend consulting or simply hiring an expert.
Tools & Gears
As for the brave souls out there, we’ve listed the tools you must have to get the ball rolling in the right direction. You definitely need a supercharger kit, a jack, and jack stands to raise the vehicle, then the usual suspects: screwdriver, pliers, rotary toolset, socket set, drain pan, etc.
Preparation
Lift up the Honda Accord by a jack, make sure to use the proper jacking points to secure the care with jack stands. Use a screwdriver to take out the battery, dislodge the plastic covers air-intake system and drain the radiator coolants. Use a 10 mm socket, and the throttle body will easily come off.
Alternator
Take off the alternator from the old pulley and blower bracket and replace them with the new ones. Remove the transmission lift bracket to mount the blower support brace on it.
Make sure the brace sits straight. You should trim the fan shroud to prevent it from rubbing against the blower. Install the new battery tray, place a new battery into it, furnish it with the coolant overflow bottle.
Blower
Mount the O-ring in the mounting bracket, don’t forget to lube it beforehand. The main bracket should go towards the camshaft. Secure the blower tightening the M8x35 and M10x40 flange bolts.

The alternator bracket and blower outer bracket should be properly aligned. The bolts should be torqued to 15ft/lbs. whereas 22ft/lbs. are appropriate for the M10X40s. Finally, mount the blower belt on the pulley.
Fuel and Intake Systems
Once you’ve removed the fuel pressure regulator, you’ll be able to get to the fuel pump via the service hatch. Replace it with the new one. Remove the old throttle body to relocate them on the inlet side of the blower.
Using the gaskets, install the inlet manifold. Before that, clean the manifold of any debris. MAP sensors should go onto the throttle body. Also, make sure there is no oil filter housing leak.
A Finishing Touch
Install the air filter and icebox. Trim the engine covers using a rotary tool. Install the covers with an ESM unit. Make sure the bolts, belts, and fitting are properly tightened. Turn on the ignition, if there’s no leak, the engine is good to start!
Final Words
So, can you put a supercharger in a Honda Accord? There you have it! You also know exactly why you may furnish your Honda Accord with a supercharger and how you should go about installing one. Get a supercharging kit, install it following this step-by-step method and enjoy!
