- The Sport L trim along with its other trim levels will release on June 14. The models will arrive in Honda dealerships around early June 2024. New, young, and active buyers have an ongoing intensified thrill regarding the release of this new hybrid trim.

The New Sport-L Hybrid Trim Is Stealing the Show
This year, the Honda CRV only offered us two hybrid trims. The genuine Sport trim is affordable and moderate. At the top of the tire, stands the Sport Touring. The hybrids are the high-scoring models of the CRV.
They perform well with better reliability, and safety and satisfy drivers’ needs. However, with only a few days left in 2023, the CRV holds something special for us in 2024.
In 2024, Honda will launch the Sport-L hybrid trim with more scope for freedom. The upcoming Sport-L trim stands on the middle ground of budget and deluxe! It fits the Sports category so well. As a bonus, it comes with some additional upgrades and functionalities for a more comfortable and stylish ride. Here, you will get the overview right about the Honda Sport-L trim.
An Overview of The 2024 Sport-L Trim
In the history of automobiles, higher car trims have more functionalities and better luxury than the lower trims. The same goes for the Honda CRV too.
The Sport trims serve the top trim levels of the Honda CRV, with Sport Touring being the first on the hierarchy. Yet not distributed to usual consumers, a few car professionals had the opportunity to experience the Sport-L trim of the Honda CRV.
2024 Sport-L Trim: The Classic Beauty & Luxury
Take a look inside the 2024 CRV Sport-L, the seats are leather trimmed with a breath-taking orange hue. It strikes the same as any other cloth seats of the Sport trims. In addition to beauty, the driver’s seat also receives the two-position memory.
**Note: The two-position memory is a special feature that refers to the memory settings for the driver’s seat. With this feature on, drivers can preset and store two different positions for their seats. It makes room for more convenience for multiple drivers on your CRV.
Every time you share your CRV with someone, you can skip the part where you have to re-adjust again and again for different drivers.

The 2024 Sport-L hybrid-only trim also receives the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can seamlessly access your phone to use Google Maps or other apps, without having to plug in your smartphone. That’s really cool, right? Wait for the best part.
Things get cooler with wireless smartphone compatibility. The use of cable to charge your phone is a luxury if you use Sport-L trim! You can go entirely cable-free with this car.

Powertrain and Performance
The CRV delivers high performance and incompetent power with efficiency. You are to experience – uncompromising stealth, and high defined efficiency all within a cabin filled with modern tech.
It is equipped with the 204 HP two-motor (electric and e-CVT) hybrid powertrain. The powertrain mounts with the 2.0L direct-injection Atkinson engine. Furthermore, the dual chrome exhaust finishers of this trim expel gas much faster. It works much better with the high-performance Sport-L trim.
Sporty Elements All Over the Sport-L
This all-hybrid trim exclusively features sporty design elements. The roof rails along with the cross bars, and 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheels prove it all. You can transport almost anything that doesn’t fit in your CRV.
And, the 18-inch alloy wheels are generally more flexible. Particularly, if you opt for the alloy wheels with smaller sidewalls, the Sport-L trim will save you. It absorbs more shock and can offer better support with rough bumps and
they are typically more flexible than ones with a smaller sidewall. Your tires act as shock absorbers and can provide a greater cushion when going over bumps and pit holes.

Honda 2024 CR-V Hybrid Sport-L vs. Sport and Sport Touring
Since we are talking about Honda CRV’s Sport-L trim, let’s not forget the two other Sport trims from the same Honda model – the Sport Trim, & the Sport Touring.
Here we have three Sports options, are you sure which one to select from? More options lead to more clouds. Let us remind you, that trims vary in functionalities and spec. So, you have to crown the one that fits your driving needs and style.
This is the part where we will help you decide if that’s the CRV Sport-L trim or not.
First, let’s start from the easiest part. The hybrid Sport-L trim is more expensive than the two other Sports of the CRV. It starts at $3,000 MSRP more than the Sport Hybrid which comes at a $33,350 price tag.
The Sport-L is available both in AWD and 2WD. You have to spend an MSRP of $36,350 to get the Sport-L (2WD) and $37,850 for the Sport-L (AWD). It’s important to note that, the MSRP is out of tax, tags, title, and MVA (Market Value Adjustment). It also excludes documentation fees and equipment installation charges.
Additionally, the destination charge will cost you an additional $1200. This goes for the pricing. Take a look at the EPA mileage rating, both Sport and Sport-L comes at 43 MPG for the city and 36 MPG for the highway road coverage.
Sport-L Vs. Sport Hybrid
However, the new Sport-L does outsmart the Sport hybrid with a few additional features. Here are some Sport-L specials that are not available in the Sport hybrid.
- A Power-operated Tailgate: You can easily open the back door without leaving the driving seat.
- As mentioned, a Sport-L 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It’s two inches larger than the Sport.
- A 320-watt audio system with 8 speakers, outnumbering the 240-watt with 6 speakers.
- Leather seats, whereas the Sport hybrid has cloth seats.
- Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility.
Sport-L Vs. Sport Touring Hybrid
The Sport Touring stands on the highest of the CRV trim levels. In this fight, the Sport-L can’t overcome the high-value Sport Touring trim. Since the touring is the highest of the trim level, it of course adds a better value to your money. Here are a few differences between them,
- Touring is expensive. It comes at an MSRP of $39,500. The all-wheel drive is standard with no variation in price. Meanwhile, the AWD is available in Sport-L, not standard but optional.
- Sport Touring features the highest Bose premium sound system with 12 speakers. The Sport-L comes with an 8-speaker audio system.
- A Wi-Fi hotspot capability is standard for the Sport Touring, but not available in the Sport-L.
- Sport-L features an 18-inch alloy wheel. It gets bigger with the Sport Touring’s 19-inch alloy wheel.
- A heated steering wheel is available in Sport Touring but not in Sport L hybrid.
Spor-L, Sport, Sport Touring: Which One Is Right for Me?
Before we pass our opinion, let us remind you that no two drivers drive the same. Two drivers will have personal driving styles, preferences, and different driving dynamics.
However, if you travel high trips regularly and often cover a long road trip, embrace the efficient power trains of the hybrid models of the Honda CRVs.
All three CRV hybrid trims are great. The Sport Touring may outnumber the Sport and Sport-L in terms of a few functionalities. There’s no significant difference in performance and efficiency between the two.
On the contrary, the Sport-L does come better in functionality and connectivity than the Sport hybrid. The choice will start with you. Ask yourself about the specs you prefer and how convenient your budget is.

A new CRV based on FCEV is set in the lineup of Honda CRV 2024. All new hydrogen FCEV-based Honda CRVs are in the production queue. The company will start making them in 2024 at the Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Marysville, Ohio.
The new CRV models will have zero emissions and sync highly with Honda’s proud goal of converting all traditional Honda vehicles into battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and FCEVs. By 2040, the BEVs and FCEVs will promote 100% of Honda’s global auto sales.
